On December 8, Private Vista Partner Bob Westrick, MBA, CPA, CFP® and Hightower Advisors’ Chief Investment Office, Stephanie Link shared their thoughts on how and why the markets performed the way they did in 2021, what factors contributed to the current state of the markets, and what their outlooks are for 2022.  Our panel provided insight on questions on questions that are on everyone’s minds as 2021 comes to a close:

BOB WESTRICK, MBA, CFA, CFP® – Bob Westrick’s career in financial services began in 1983. In 1983, Westrick left a “Big Eight” public accounting firm to work for one of his audit clients. Eight years later, Westrick’s entrepreneurial itch was scratched as he started a partnership in the financial services industry. Two years later, he co-founded WNA Wealth Advisors, one of the precursor firms to Private Vista. Westrick is a frequent speaker and is often interviewed on subjects ranging from economic conditions to wealth management. Westrick’s experience as an accountant, business owner, and financial advisor gives him a different perspective to offer his clients.

Mr. Westrick earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame as well as a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago. He is a board member at the Ministry Formation Program, the Finance Chair at the YMCA Men’s Club, a member of the Salt Creek Club, and a Retired Board Member at Plymouth Place Senior Living.

STEPHANIE LINK – Stephanie Link is chief investment strategist and portfolio manager at Hightower Advisors, LLC. Prior to joining Hightower, Link was the senior managing director and head of global equities research at Nuveen, where she co-managed the CREF Stock Variable Annuity Portfolio with $170 billion in assets, managed her own US Core portfolio with $3.7 billion in assets, and oversaw 33 investment professionals who collectively managed $40 billion. Before joining Nuveen, Ms. Link spent seven years at TheStreet as Chief Investment Officer and co-portfolio manager of Jim Cramer’s Charitable Trust. Before that, she served for 10 years at Prudential Equity Group as managing director of institutional sales and director of research. She began her career at Dean Witter Reynolds in the institutional sales department.

Ms. Link earned a B.S. in finance at Boston College. She currently serves as chairperson for the Investment Advisory Council at the Basking Ridge Presbyterian Church in Basking Ridge, NJ and is a board member at The Pingry School.
